On July 30, 2018, the Lawyers’ Committee for 9/11 Inquiry sent an amended petition to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) demanding that a Special Grand Jury be convened and presented “the extensive evidence of yet-to-be-prosecuted federal crimes relating to the destruction of three World Trade Center Towers on 9/11.”
Further words of the petition read: “By law, the Department of Justice through the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York must present this evidence to a grand jury. Justice for these victims requires nothing less and the soul of our nation commands it.”
